Thousands of years ago, molten lava tubes from volcanic eruptions formed the
Halona Blowhole. Today, this spectacular natural formation on
South Shore Oahu wows its audiences when crashing waves push through the lava tubes, causing water to spray as high as 30 feet into the air In the winter months, this is the perfect spot to see humpback whales in the winter months.
History
Mother Nature created this rock formation thousands of years ago. Fast forward to the 21st century and new warning signs were installed to prevent tourists and residents from going too close to the blowhole. Most, not all, follow the advisories on these signs.
