Oahu Polynesian Cultural Center
Oahu's # 1 attraction
Find out why the Polynesian Cultural Center on the northern side of Oahu is a
must see attraction!
Experience the richness of Polynesian Culture in this amazing park that is
spread out over 42 dazzling tropical acres. Among the main attractions are the
seven Polynesian villages that show the traditional island life of Tonga,
Tahiti, the Marquesas, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and, of course, Hawaii.
Travel back in time?
Ancient Polynesian melodies and the beat of drums are filling the air. Dancers
appear on stage and begin their traditional dance. Their green grass skirts are
swinging in the wind as they move to the music. You can almost smell the flowers
in their hair.
Hear the ukulele (Hawaiian guitar) player sing about old island stories and
legends. Get captivated by hypnotizing chants.
Near the stage, a man is climbing on a tall coconut tree,
barefooted. Behind him, another group of native islanders is wielding
fire-knives and performing an old war dance. Their eyes are sparkling with life
as they do their rapid twists and turns and amazing feats of bravery.
See how the Polynesian people lived and celebrated in the old days before the
first ships reached their tranquil shores.
