Oahu Whale Watching
Our biggest tourists
The warm tropical waters that are so attractive to humans are just as
attractive to other visitors, most specifically to our most dependable winter
vacationers - humpback whales, who come to Hawaiian waters all the way from
Alaska! These magnificent giants generally spend December to April playing and
breeding off the islands before heading back to their fertile feeding grounds in
the cold Arctic Ocean.
Guaranteed views
Many providers will guarantee you a view of these extraordinary animals if
you take their tour in the winter, providing a free second tour if you don't.
This confidence on their part simply serves to illustrate the sheer numbers of
humpbacks observable during this period. And then there are all the dolphins,
which are often more than willing to put on a show for you! Particularly
exciting are the spinner dolphins, whose aerial acrobatics give them their name.
Sometimes the well-known bottlenose dolphins are also seen.
