Pearl Harbor tour featuring USS Arizona Memorial, USS Missouri Battleship, and Downtown Honolulu
A Pearl Harbor Tour is essential to any Hawaii vacation. Join us for our ever popular WWII Beginning to End Tour, complete with visits to Pearl Harbor’s USS Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri Battleship.
Before you arrive at Pearl Harbor, your tour guide will provide a brief history of the first attack on the US during World War II at Pearl Harbor. Arriving at the Arizona Memorial, you will view a historical film with authentic footage of the Pearl Harbor attack and then be taken to the Arizona Memorial aboard a Navy shuttle. At the Arizona Memorial, visit the Shrine Room and reflect on the names of the 1,177 men resting on the sunken battleship below. And be sure to peer down at the actual battleship wreckage along with the “black tears of the Arizona” – oil that still leaks from the vessel today.
Back at the Visitor’s Center, take time to browse through the fascinating Museum exhibits and explore the gift shop where you can find Pearl Harbor books, memorabilia and souvenirs. From the grounds of the Visitor’s Center, view battleship row and the USS Bowfin Submarine. The USS Missouri, located on Pearl Harbor’s Ford Island, is also easy to view from here and will in fact be the next stop on your journey.
At the USS Missouri Battleship, locally known as the “Mighty Mo,” see the table on which the Japanese signed a peace treaty effectively ending WWII. Also, see the dent caused by a Kamikaze plane as it nearly destroyed this famous warship.
After spending time at these two magnificent Pearl Harbor museums, let your guide take you for an exploration through downtown Honolulu. Learn and view notable attractions such as the Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha Statue, and Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific. You will also drive by locations significant to the early life of President Barack Obama.
