This Month’s Theme
Street Grindz is hosting another great Eat the Street event this Friday! This month’s theme is Latin food, in celebration of the Hispanic holiday “Dia de Los Muertos” which celebrates the passing of loved ones into the next world.
About the Event
Kaka’ako (555 South King Street) will remain the location of the event, and food trucks from around the island of Oahu will gather to present many of their normal dishes, as well as Latin themed dishes. There is plenty of parking, and admission, as always, is free.
Non-Stop Honolulu has a complete list of all the vendors attending, as well as—for the vendors who decided to share—a list of “On the Menu” items.
After looking through the list of vendors that will be attending it was hard to ignore my watering mouth. I decided to make a list of food trucks, and their exceptional offerings. There are many types of foods offered, and here is a list of the ones that stand out
Dishes To Try
Achilles Grill – Tequila lime BBQ chicken sticks with chili lime sauce
Baja Style Mexican Food – Roasted bone marrow with steak tartare or goat meat, served on toasted garlic cheese flour tortilla
EAT Café – Lobster ceviche on local lettuce
Koi catering & Takeout – Grilled guava pork chops with dragon fruit salsa
Desserts To Try
Na ‘Ono – Chili and Garlic-spiced roasted corn on the cob
All Kine Ice Cream Truck – Tres Leches Yellow cake
Fairycakes – Churro cupcake with dulce de leche sauce
Lickety Split – Latin Caramel flan sundae
The offerings for this month’s Eat the Street event sound spectacular! I am looking forward to attending, and trying out some of the great dishes that these food trucks from all over the island of Oahu have offer.
