Kalaupapa Molokai Father Damien Tour Set To Begin July 1, 2009

HONOLULU, HAWAII JUNE 29, 2009:

Anticipating increased interest in Father Damien of Molokai after his upcoming canonization in October, Discover Hawaii Tours has announced a new tour retracing the blessed Father’s footsteps on Molokai. The “Father Damien’s Molokai Expedition” will commence on July 1, 2009 and be offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Departing from Honolulu airport on Oahu and Kapalua airport on Maui, the tour is a first for Hawaii in that it represents the only inter-island tour to the Kalaupapa Peninsula on Molokai. The expedition will include an in-depth tour of the Hansen’s disease colony where Father Damien ministered to so many patients. During the flight to the Kalaupapa, passengers will get an Oceanside view of the magestic cliffs of Molokai which are regarded as the tallest sea cliffs in the world.
