Waikiki Luxury Hotel Debuts New Dessert Menu
Sweet-tooth visitors to Waikiki will be in for a treat in the month of August. The Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki, one of the most luxurious resorts in all of Hawaii, is introducing a new dessert menu for the month of August. Entitled “The Art of the Dessert,” the new dessert menu will be devised in conjunction with the Imperial Hotel Tokyo. The partnership is pairing Mark Freischmidt, the Halekulani’s pastry chef, and Kanjiro Mochizuki, the Imperial Hotel Tokyo’s master pastry chef. Through this collaboration, the two pastry chefs have created a delightful range of desserts that will be featured at Halekulani events and demonstrations in August. These delectable desserts of Japanese confectionary will be available exclusively at the Veranda Tea Room from August 8th through the 31st. The Art of the Dessert kicks off on Saturday, August 6, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Halekulani Living Pastry Demonstration and Afternoon Tea. Master Chef Mochizuki will lead a demonstration that details the art of pastry making. Held in the Halekulani’s lovely Garden Terrace, the event will include champagne and other special favors. The event costs $49 and reservations are required. If you can’t make the demonstration, Orchids Sunday Brunch on August 7th will offer these desserts for just one Sunday.
