Tours which visit the valley include incredible activities like horseback riding, catamaran cruises along the coast, off-road rambling through the jungle, and a visit to an ancient Hawaiian fish pond. Kailua Beach’s Popoia Island

Located about a quarter mile off the shores of beautiful Kailua Beach is Popoia Island. Commonly known as “Flat Island”, it’s a popular kayak destination and the reefs surrounding the island make for great snorkeling.  Nearby is Lanikai Point which is a favorite hangout for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. The view from flat island is amazing! You can see the Mokulua Islands and all of Kailua Bay, so don’t forget your camera! The Bishop Museum is Hawaii’s largest museum. Originally built to house royal Hawaiian artifacts from the Kamehameha dynasty, today it is home to the world’s most extensive collection of Polynesian artifacts. Bishop Museum is also home to the eighth largest entomological collection in the world. The museum features planetarium shows, a science and activity center where they make lava twice a day, and showcases traveling international exhibits.
