Looking for a fun thing to do in Oahu this weekend? The Contemporary Museum of Honolulu is holding their 18th annual ArtSpree this Saturday, July 9th. The best part is that this all-day art jamboree is completely free! Held on the sprawling grounds of the Cooke-Spalding estate that houses the museum, this family friendly event features hands-on activities for children. Children activities include weaving, face painting, manga printmaking, paper bead jewelry and recycled art sculpture all guided by local artists. For the adults, bands and DJ’s will be playing all day long, including Hope Mayo and Clones of the Queen, making this a great thing to do in Oahu for families. Sponsored by the Bank of Hawaii, the event will run from 10am to 4pm. A free shuttle service will run continuously, transporting visitors from Punahou School (where visitors can park for free). Parking is prohibited at the museum and along the streets of the museum neighborhood. A day spent visiting The Contemporary Museum is always a tranquil experience due to Reverend K.I. Inagaki’s precise landscape architecture. If you are looking for fun and a bit of serenity in Hawaii this Saturday, the ArtSpree is a great thing to do in Oahu.
