Maui’s Surfing Goat Dairy is the Cheese

For the second year in a row, Surfing Goat Dairy has been named by the Pacific Business News as one of Hawaii’s 50 fastest-growing private companies.
After a mere decade in business, this Maui dairy has grown from 48 goats to a herd totaling over 170. Owned and operated by Thomas and Eva Kafsack, Surfing Goat Dairy crafts some of the finest gourmet cheeses in Hawaii. Don’t take our word for it though, two of the finest resorts in Hawaii, the Halekulani and the Four Seasons Hualalai, both features Surfing Goat Dairy cheese on their menu. Perched on the slopes of Haleakala, the 42-acre Surfing Goat Dairy has become a popular thing to do in Maui. Visitors now flock to the farm to visit these surfing goats and to buy locally made gourmet cheese. The Kafsack’s produce over 30 different cheeses at the farm and their cheeses have won 11 National Awards.  Not only do they make great cheese, the farm also makes over 20 different scents of Goats Milk Soap. As great as the cheeses and soaps are, visitors absolutely love the Gourmet Goat Cheese Truffles. Made with Guittard Chocolate, these truffles are simply phenomenal! One of the best things to do in Maui is take a Maui Food Tour, which visits Surfing Goat Dairy and a host of other spots.
