When visiting Hawaii, there are several choices to make. Should you take a cruise or stay at a resort? Which island should you stay on? There are several directions you can take, but you should definitely consider Maui for your destination. Maui tourism is unique in that you can take in the culture of Hawaii, enjoy the beautiful landscape and explore some eco-tourism options. Need more convincing? Read on for more reason the activities in Maui are right for you.

If you are the type that likes a beach vacation, Maui is a great place to be. The beaches and resorts are gorgeous but less crowded than the Waikiki area. You can stay at a nice hotel and golf or take in some sun on the beautiful soft sand of Maui’s beaches. Perhaps you’d like to get moving a bit but you don’t want to leave the beautiful beach. Take a surfing or kayaking lesson right outside your resort! You can rent boards, kayaks and wetsuits right on the beach. It’s a fun way to get into the sports that locals enjoy.

You can’t go to Maui without taking a tour of the Road to Hana. Famous for its narrow winding road, one-way bridges and breath taking views, this tour is a must see. Remember, the Road to Hana is all about the journey. It’s about everything you see along the way and the gorgeous nature you’re lucky enough to travel through. But Hana is also a quaint town that’s great to grab a bite or even stay a night or two.

Another popular tour in Maui is to see the sunrise over Haleakala. Haleakala is a dormant volcano that sits on one side of the island and helped form it thousands of years ago. Nearly half the island is made up of Haleakala national park. You can take a bus tour to the top of the volcano to see the sunrise above the cloud line. The views are amazing and no two sunrises look quite the same. You’ll hear some island history on your bus ride down. For the more adventurous, you can take a bike down and coast your way through the national park.

There’s lots of variety in Maui and you won’t be bored by the options. These are just a few. You choose what’s right for you but we guarantee you won’t regret choosing Maui!
