Kauai Shopping Spree at Hanalei Farmer’s Market

Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii, July 26 (DHN) – A vacation to Kauai cannot be considered complete without a visit to gorgeous Hanalei Bay. Located on the North Shore of Kauai, the crescent shaped Hanalei Bay is one of the most spectacular locales in all of Hawaii. And the peaceful little town of Hanalei is one of the most ideal little hamlets in all of the world.
On Saturday’s, the little town hosts the Hanalei’s Farmer Market. With over 40 stands offering fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, handmade crafts and arts, baked goods, the market is a perfect stop for great produce and unique souvenirs. It is also a great stop to load up on beach snacks for a long, relaxing day swimming and sunbathing at Hanalei Bay. You can find the freshest mango, pineapple, starfruit, tangerines, apple bananas, papayas and coconuts at the Hanalei Farmer’s Market. The market is open every Saturday from 9:30 to noon and features primarily organic produce. Located at the Hanalei Neighborhood Center, which is right next to the soccer field, the market is extremely popular. Locals and visitors alike arrive by 9 am to get in line for the best produce and fresh leis. You can even get freshly made kava, the original intoxicating beverage that the ancient Hawaiian’s used to enjoy. Oftentimes there will even be live local music to enjoy as you go about your shopping.

Number 1 Beach in 2009

Hanalei Bay was named the top beach in Dr. Beach’s 2009 List of Top Ten Beaches. At two-miles long, this golden sand beach is a heavenly enclave. Hanalei Bay also features the iconic Hanalei Pier, built in 1892, and featured in the film “South Pacific.” With only a few hotels and condos on Kauai’s North Shore, most visitors end up staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort or the luxurious resort, the Princeville at Hanalei during vacation.
