Incliment Weather Closing Many Popular Attractions on Oahu
All of the Hawaiian Islands have been inundated with severe weather this week, and after consecutive days of downpours, thunderstorms, and high winds some tourists attractions have decided to close. This morning Pearl Harbor closed down the boat the taxis people out to the USS Arizona Memorial, causing many to be disappointed that they might not get to visit the memorial. Another closing for Friday March 9th is the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). PCC is the perfect place for island visitors to get a taste of Polynesian Culture, and for many years people have flocked to the attraction located in La’ie. President and CEO of PCC, Von Orgill apologized for any inconvenience that the closure may have caused and said “The health and safety of our guests and employees always come first here at the Polynesian CulturalCenter,” Another very popular tourist attraction, and movie site that closed due to the bad weather is Kualoa Ranch. Kualoa Ranch is a great place to go to see some of Hawai’i’s natural beauty, but it is also very popular with movie buffs since many popular movie and TV shows have been recorded on the massive 4,000-acre farm. The stormy weather has caused quite a few problems around the island such as flooding, mudslides, and blacked out power. Currently the forecast is calling for more rain through most of next week, so let’s hope that conditions don’t worsen for the state of Hawai’i in the coming week.
