3 Reasons to Visit Volcanoes National Park
While visiting Hawaii, you have so many options of how to spend your time. Should you golf, relax on the beach or be an eco-tourist? Well, if given the chance to visit Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park, you must go! This is a quintessential Hawaiian experience you won’t want to miss. Here are three reasons why this is a must-see for your visit:
- When else are volcano activities an option? Hawaii is surely a special vacation spot, but you must take advantage of more than just the beautiful beaches. The eco-tourism is amazing and volcanoes are a huge part of this. If you’ve never seen a volcano—they are magnificent. There are many ways to appreciate these giants and Hawaii is the best place to do it.
- Did you know that Hawaii is home to one of the most active volcanoes in the world? Mt. Kilauea is constantly spewing lava and makes for an unforgettable tourist attraction. You can even take a helicopter over this volcano to see the active lava flow with your own eyes. While these tours book up early and can cost more money than land tours, it’s something you won’t forget. This is an amazing experience and a pretty cool way to wrap up your Hawaiian vacation.
- After you’ve had your areal tour of the volcanoes, explore Volcanoes National Park on foot. This can be just as magnificent. You’ll hike through the Thurston Lava Tube and grasp just how enormous the flow of hot lava is, cutting tubes out to the sea. Put your toes in the black sand of the beaches and climb over lava rocks out to the ocean. This is an amazing opportunity to see the foundation of the Hawaiian Islands and the geological and natural wonders that created them.
If you are the type to soak up information, there is a nice museum and gift shop to accompany the wonders of the park. For photographers, this is a must see destination. The aerial shots and the overlooks are spectacular. But even for the non-photographers in your group this will prove to be a once in a lifetime experience. Active volcanoes, beaches and lava-lined roads are pretty hard to argue with. This is an experience worth leaving the golf course for. Consider booking your Hawaii tour at Volcanoes National Park. You won’t regret it.
