Eat the Street: Black Saturday?

Amid all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season it’s easy to forget to stop and eat, and in Honolulu this week is hosting another Eat the Street event. Usually the Eat the Street events are held on Fridays, but due to the upcoming Holiday and all the extreme shopping and long hours organizers have decided to move the event to Saturday afternoon, dubbing this month’s Eat the Street “Black Saturday”!

What’s on the Menu at Eat the Street this Month
This month for Eat the Street, and in the spirit of Black Friday deals, the theme is “Black Saturday”. Participating food trucks have been asked to prepare pupu menus which will give attendees a good deal, as well as giving them the chance to sample a variety of what each truck has to offer. As well as pupu menus offering up all that each truck has to offer, there will be a retail area for this month’s installment so that you can continue checking items off that Christmas list.

Favorites from Last Month

Eat the Street is always a fun event to attend in Honolulu. Their last event, Dia De Los Muertos, was a great event with lots of tasty offerings from many different food trucks. My fiancé and I went to get dessert, but while we were there I had to stop to try Hawaii’s Fried Musubi. Their truck stood out with Fried Musubi paired with fried chicken wings; the fried musubi was an interesting and delicious spin on an island classic, and the fried chicken wings were delicious! Another truck that we tried, and was our main reason for going, was the All Kine Ice Cream Truck.
We sought out this one for one of their specialties for the night, which happens to be one of our favorite desserts. The Brownie S’more was outstanding, with a homemade marshmallow dipped in dark chocolate on top of a brownie all in-between two graham crackers. This dessert is a classic, and the All Kine Ice Cream Truck’s take on our favorite stood up to the classic!
