Aloha Festivals Floral Parade Saturday
The Aloha Festivals Floral Parade will start this Saturday, September 24 at 9 am on Oahu. The parade will begin in Ala Moana Park and proceed down Kalakaua Avenue until it reaches Kapiolani Park. The parade will include a very vibrant procession of male and female Pau riders on horseback, and many very detailed floats that will feature beautiful Hawaiian flowers. There will be hula Halau and marching bands. Organizers say there will be 2,000 individuals participating, 40 vehicles, 15 floats, and 10 bands. The theme for this years events is “Mele ‘Ailana — celebrate island music.” The Aloha Festivals is known for putting on this beautiful procession, which is free and open to the public. Please come out and join the crowds to celebrate. The parade will cause lane closures along the entire route; roads will be closed from the begining of the parade until about 1pm.
