Airport Transportation Options Available for Visitors to Hawaii

You booked your flights, you booked your hotel, and now you need to figure out how to get from the airport to your hotel to start your vacation. So what are your other options for getting to your hotel once you’ve arrived in paradise?Hotels That Offer Airport Transportation
Aside from the Ohana Airport hotel, which is ½ mile from the Airport Terminal, there are no hotels within Waikiki that offer transportation to or from the Airport.

Taxi Cabs

Taxi cabs are always an option, and for the easy going traveler who isn’t on a tight budget this is a great option. There are always drivers waiting for their next customer, and at Honolulu International Airport on Oahu there is even a friendly staffer waiting to get you in the next available cab. The trip from the airport to a hotel in Waikiki is about 9 miles and will cost you about $35.00, unless you want to tip.

Prebooked and First-Come-First-Serve Shuttles

There are a couple of companies that offer airport transfer services. Arthur’s Limousine service is offering a new option called the Speedi Shuttle. Speedi Shuttle offers transportation on Oahu (for the airport and the pier), Maui, Hawaii (Big Island), and Kauai, at very affordable rates, starting at about $13 each way. There are other companies that offer airport transportation as well as transportation to other attractions around the island, such as Reliable Shuttle, which offers shuttle services from the airport starting at $19 roundtrip!

Enjoy Your Vacation

Your flight landed right on time, your shuttle was waiting for you right outside the airport, and as you stroll out into the perfect Hawaiian air you know your vacation has officially begun. Planning ahead will no doubt make your trip go off without a hitch, and you’ll be sitting poolside sipping mai-tai’s in no time!
