A Historic Fourth of July in Hawaii!
With our nations birthday just around the corner it’s time to start making some plans. You can never go wrong with friends and family gathered around the barbecue reminiscing, but maybe you’d rather experience U.S. history first hand on your Fourth of July in Hawaii.
Pearl Harbor is one of the most visited sites on Oahu, and for obvious reasons. Discover Hawaii Tours offers several unique and interactive experience’s of Hawaii’s most famous harbor. You can actually climb aboard the USS Bowfin Submarine, USS Missouri Battleship, USS Oklahoma Memorial and Arizona Memorial, among other activities.
Not a historian? Don’t worry. Veteran and Tour Guide Arnold Albiar makes the events that occurred 72 years ago, sound like it happened just yesterday. Arnold takes this tour to heart and says, “This tour is important and personal to me. It’s pretty powerful. World War ll is meaningful to me. As a sailor, I know a lot more details than most and I would like to be able to share those with my guests.”
How to Get There
No ride? No problem. Discover Hawaii Tours can pick you up right from your hotel in Waikiki Beach. The drive itself through the city of Honolulu is quite breathtaking. And so you don’t miss out on your Facebook photo op, the tour bus stops at the famous King Kamehameha statue for your chance to pose with the king.

After you’ve paid homage to a national landmark and the night sky begins to turn down low, it’s time to light it back up again. Because how can you celebrate the 4th without fireworks? The big show will be at Ala Moana Beach Park, starting at 8:30 p.m., with an expected 30,000 onlookers. If you prefer a more low-key locale, then check out Kailua Beach Park’s 4th of July display, which starts at 8:00 p.m.
Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to enjoy an information-filled tour from the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides at Discover Hawaii Tours. And still make it back to Waikiki in time for that barbecue and fireworks.
