Hawaii is famous for having spectacular natural beauty. From pristine beaches and bright coral reefs to lush tropical rainforest with breathtaking waterfalls. Here is a look at our favorite Hawaii waterfalls.
Our favorite waterfall on the Big Island of Hawaii has to be Rainbow Falls. Located just outside the town of Hilo in Wailuku River State Park, this waterfall got it’s nickname from the wind carrying the mist into the air giving off a shimmering rainbow.
The falls pour over 80 feet over an ancient Hawaiian cave into a pond on the Wailuku River. The best time to visit Rainbow Falls in the morning when the rainbow from the sun hitting the mist is in it’s highest effect.
Another on of our favorite Hawaii waterfalls is Wailua Falls on Maui. Located just after the town of Hana on the Hana Highway, Wailua falls pours over a rocky cliff over 200 feet into a shimmering pond.
Another spectacular waterfall found on the Hana Highway is Puohokamoa Falls. Most people do not know there are actually two parts to Puohokamoa Falls, an upper and a lower falls.
Both of these beautiful waterfalls can be found on Maui’s Hana Highway. Take a tour of the Road to Hana with us and see these majestic natural wonders!
Waimea Valley Falls
One of our favorite waterfalls on Oahu is Waimea Falls. Located in Waimea Valley on the North Shore of Oahu, Waimea Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls on Oahu. While it may not be the tallest of Hawaii waterfalls, Waimea Falls is famous for it’s large pond for swimming.
One of the lesser known Hawaii waterfalls is Likeke Falls. Nestled among the Ko’olau Mountains on Oahu’s windward side, Likeke Falls is a short hike through the rainforest from the road.
Join us on tour for a hike up to the falls on Oahu!
