$18 million Ihilani Resort Renovation in effect

As Disney’s brand new Aulani Resort sets to open at the end of the summer here in Hawaii, the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa has just undergone an extensive $18 million renovation to its guestrooms.
Located in Ko Olina (on the Westside of Oahu), the Ihilani Resort & Spa has outfitted each of their 387 guest rooms and suites with 42-inch flat screen televisions that includes a technology pack for smart phones and tablets.  Not that you will spend much time in your room as this 5-star resort boasts 4 man-made lagoons in which to sunbathe and swim. Families on vacation in Hawaii find these beaches perfect for their young children since there are no waves. Home to the award-winning Ko Olina Golf Club and the Ihilani Spa, the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort has something to entertain everyone on their Hawaii tour. These new renovations, along with the recently renovated spa ($2 million) and Hokulani Ballroom ($4 million), has given the 18 year old resort a revamped look to compete against the new Aulani Resort. Opened in 1993, the Ihilani Resort was the first resort built at Ko Olina. Conceived in the 1970′s by Hawaii real estate developer Herbert K. Horita, the Ko Olina Resort sits on 642 acres of land that once grew Hawaiian sugarcane.
