Five miles east of Kahului, Maui, is a state park just 5 acres large. Pua’a Ka’a State Park features scenic pools, waterfalls and rainforest. The park, located in the northern slopes of Mt. Pua’a Ka’a means open laughter in Hawaiian, a symbol of the playful wild animals, like chicken and mongoose, that frolic about the park.
