About Maui Ocean Center
With over 60 exhibits, both indoor and outdoor, the Maui Ocean Center is a great place to go to see many of the wonders of Hawaiis ocean. From their Living Reef Exhibit, including organisms from rocky surge zone to the edges of the deep reef, to a hands-on tide pool where you can handle some of Hawaiis invertebrates. All animals located in the Maui Ocean center are only collected from Hawaiian waters. They Maui Ocean center is dedicated to preserving Hawaiis culture, and they strive to showcase the language, myths and history of the Hawaiian Islands.
Opened in 1998 by Coral World International, the Maui Ocean Center is a state-of-the-art facility that gives visitors a chance to see Hawaiian organisms that can be seen along the coast of the islands, some of which can only be found amongst the Hawaiian island chains.
